Through a program called Excluded Workers Fund, New York state is giving out $3,200–15,600 one-time unemployment benefits to workers who lost employment or income during the COVID-19 pandemic but didn’t qualify for aid like unemployment benefits or stimulus payments. New Mexicans that fall in a lower-income group will get a one-time payment of $750. In the Land of Enchantment, $5 million is set to be given out to people who didn’t qualify for the federal stimulus. The state is giving out an extra $250 per paycheck for these folks to thank them for their work during the pandemic. If you live in Missouri and work in a mental health facility, nursing home or correctional facility (aka jail or prison), listen up.
